React Native Cheatsheet —Facts, Stats and Figures

What is React Native? It’s a relatively new framework created by Facebook, that makes it possible to develop cross-platform mobile apps for Android and iOS. React Native concept came from the React platform designed for the web development and uses JavaScript as a programming language. Its biggest advantage is the ability to keep a native experience for the end-users with the possibility to share the same code between different operating platforms.

However, it’s still necessary to have some experience with a native platform, as React Native has certain limitations. Luckily, the framework allows more experienced engineers to add native codes (Java, Swift, Objective-C etc.) to the framework, in order to achieve that custom look. When introducing React Native, Facebook coined a term: „learn once, write anywhere”. Practically, it means that the majority of the developed codebase can be used in cross-platform.

Today, React Native with its undeniable business value certainly opens up some new, great perspectives in many different contexts for developing mobile applications. The most popular apps developed with React Native? Instagram, Facebook, Airbnb, UberEats, Walmart…Not all mobile projects are suitable for React Native, but there is a number of them that can benefit from it.

The knowledge and understanding of the inner mechanisms of any framework or platform are crucial in developing good applications and programs. This will never change, which is why you need experienced developers (both in JavaScript and native codes) to get the job done right.
