The launch of Polidea Labs. From experiments to breakthroughs

We are excited to launch a brand new initiative called Polidea Labs – dedicated to experimenting with the newest, emerging technologies that may just become the next big thing in the application development world.

Tomorrow is today

We do our best to be at the forefront of technological breakthroughs – witnessing the rapidly changing world around us; the emerging Internet of Things, Virtual and Augmented Reality. All of these being a manifestation of the constant shift in software and hardware technologies. Broadening the horizon of what is possible is fascinating and as we do our best to be up-to-date, we know that there is always a potential for more. New technologies require constant testing, learning and exploring. The same goes for innovation and thinking outside the box. Being at the cutting edge of new technologies requires time, ingenuity and effort.

To structure the unknown

All good starts with a plan. In order to address great changes we are witnessing, we want to act proactively. That is the reason why Polidea Labs workflow will be organized around projects – with clear structures, schedules, and goals. They will be time-constrained, conducted by dedicated project groups and well-documented. The aim is to conduct mini projects lasting from 2-4 weeks with clear deliverables and best process practices (such as demos, milestones’ analysis and progress measuring). Our projects will cover to some extent:

  1. research
  2. tools

The first will answer specific questions about a technology we already know, or allow us to gather first experiences with a new one. The second will be concerned with the creation of tools that will help us do a better job in the future. All contributing to our everyday work and knowledge.

More projects, more insights, more services

Polidea Labs aims at driving higher quality solutions in the researched technologies. As a result, Polidea will be more capable of estimating potential projects, scope, and opportunities, thus providing clients with a wide variety of offers. Having broader expertise in the given subjects before market asks for it will translate also into a greater number of services we can provide. Instead of only responding to the existing needs, we want to be at the forefront of changes and offer new, innovative solutions.

Test, learn and share

Stepping ahead always brings about changes and generates a lot of creativity and energy. The process of studying new ideas will surely result in many interesting observations. That is why Polidea Labs is also the learning opportunity – it provides a platform for development and knowledge sharing. Its objective is to stimulate and facilitate the process of gaining new experience. Because what is more exciting than sharing your insights on the hottest technological news with the community?

Stay in touch

As for sharing, a series of blog posts will virtually bring you to the heart of Polidea Labs. Stay tuned for more – we will publish the updates, observations, know-how and hints. We will focus on the practical aspects of our discoveries so that they can be inspiring and helpful for others. And most importantly – they will be truly fascinating! We are always open for discussion!

The first post dedicated to setting up a development toolchain targeting nRF5x chips under macOS is coming soon!

Stay tuned for more!
